Medical assistants are trained individuals who perform administrative and/or clinical tasks to support the work of physicians and other healthcare professionals. They perform routine tasks and procedures such as measuring patients’ vital signs, administering medications and injections, recording information in medical record systems, preparing and handling medical instruments and supplies, and collecting and preparing specimens of bodily fluids and tissues for laboratory testing.
As a Medical Assistant you will be able to work as a member of a closely knit team of highly skilled individuals who have the opportunity to help to improve the quality of life for your patients every day. Jobs in the healthcare industry are in high demand. New government healthcare reforms will continue to grow the healthcare industry by affording all Americans the opportunity to receive healthcare benefits. Government regulations accompanied by our growing population will aid in providing Medical Assistants with an increased level of job security.
The Efficient Care Medical Assistant and Scribe Training Program is carefully designed to teach students how to thrive in a medical office setting. Dr. Curtiss Combs and MSJC joined forces to develop a program that provides our students with the hands-on experience and knowledge to maximize the success of our students following graduation.
